Alice and her mother June arrived from a property in Lancaster where they were being raised for milk and cheap meat. Alice was actually posted on an advertisement for “1-2 week old baby goats and sheep for sale” that was forwarded to our founder. Separating a newborn and her mother, so early is very dangerous for the baby and obviously emotional for both. They need each other in every way and we made it our mission to keep them together. We went to visit the property and make a plea for both of their lives. After some tense discussion we left with both Alice and June, Sophie Maaa'rceau and her mother Matilda, and lastly Luna who is currently pregnant.
Alice is a cross between a La Mancha and Nubian goat. She arrived at approximately 1 week old and we are keeping a close eye on her with our veterinary team to ensure she continues to grow and stays healthy.
