Nathan and Eric are a bonded pair of alpacas that came to us after the Woolsey Fires. They were originally part of a group of 9, but predators slowly picked off 7 over the course of a 2018, and then the terrible Woolsey Fires hit the area and their property was decimated. They were unfortunately left onsite but miraculously survived the blaze. Their luck streak continued when a wonderful woman discovered them and arranged to have them moved to her barn to recover. She reached out to us to see if we could offer sanctuary to them and without hesitation we said yes. After some much needed veterinary care, they came home to Ojai to decompress and start their new life.
Nathan is much more outgoing than Eric and is first to greet visitors. He also takes his role as protector very seriously and makes sure that Eric is comfortable and feels safe. Eric prefers to hang back and let Nathan shine. Both are recovering nicely from their very intense year and we look forward to seeing them thrive.
